Zynga CEO Talks About Today's Layoffs

While it’s sad 520 people out of work, the most staggering thing to take away from this is that number only represents 18% of their employees. There’s still over 2000 people still working on games like Farmville.

EA's Eliminating Online Pass

As we discontinue Online Pass for our new EA titles, we are also in the process of eliminating it from all our existing EA titles as well. We heard the feedback from players and decided to do away with Online Pass altogether.

For those unfamiliar, most EA games shipped with a separate serial that was required to play games online. If a game was bought used, one would have to also buy an Online Pass from EA to access online play.

John Leguizamo Talks About Super Mario Movie

May the fungus be among us

Its hard to believe it’s already been 20 years since the Super Mario Brothers movie. Nevertheless, it’s always fun hearing the horror stories that came creating the film. Rumor has it, to this very day it’s still the reason Nintendo refuses to make another game inspired movie.

And — unlike recent Yahoo acquisitions like Astrid – CEO Jesper Jensen said the company would continue to operate as it has, supporting over 2,600 developers and 4,000 games.

Their sudden push into mobile gaming is rather intriguing. I think we’ll see a lot more games related acquisitions by Yahoo
