There’s some great stuff coming out of the 7DFPS game jam. I’m not sure how practical this could be, but being able to see in every direction at once adds a new layer of interaction to your typical first person shooter.

Half-Life 3 – the game that doesn't exist

Half-Life 3 has become the gamer’s equivalent of the DB Cooper legend. There are so many hints and speculation over something that could be there. Whether or not the game really exists or not, the real question is whether or not anything produced could live up to the hype thats built up over nearly a decade or waiting.

Half-Life 3 – the game that doesn’t existHints, teasing tweets and feverish speculation, the wait for Valve’s next version of the game is like an online soap opera. By Rich Stant

StarCraft Universe

An ambitious and rather impressive project to say the least. At some point though, you have to ask yourself if it would just be easier to build a 3rd person game engine in the likeness of Starcraft, outside of the Starcraft II client, rather than modding a real time strategy engine to function as a 3rd person game. A good comparison to this would be the popular Warcraft 3 mod Dota, and the stand alone game Dota2.

When you’re constructing a mod for a game, you’re limiting yourself to that game,

Xbox Community Level

Members participate in Xbox Community Ambassadors or the Enforcement United beta, and on the backend, we track your participation, calculate your XP, and award loot to your Gamertag as you level up. There’s no need to opt in to earn rewards, submit your activity, or create a new profile. We’ll take care of the heavy lifting.

Looks like leveling your gamertag was successful enough for Valve/Steam that Microsoft is jumping on the bandwagon too. I wonder how long until they add trading cards to

Cliff Bleszinski's Open Letter to Phil Fish

The other key is to absorb all of that hate into one big fireball of motivation inside of your belly and then pour all of that energy into your work until you can unleash one big giant motherfucking HADOKEN upon the community that wins awards and sells millions and then the haters will truly be eating a giant bushel of dicks as you roll in a pile of money, acclaim, and community love.

Words to Live by.

Superbrothers - Sword & Sworcery: 1.5 million sold

There’s not that many titles out there that began on iOS and made their way to this many other platforms over time

Close to a 1/3 of sales came from IOS. This was a truly amazing game with some stunning audio. I could listen to the soundtrack all day.
