EA was quick to put out a blog post

continue to make college football games, just not under the NCAA name anymore.

As we discontinue Online Pass for our new EA titles, we are also in the process
of eliminating it from all our existing EA titles as well. We heard the feedback
from players and decided to do away with Online Pass altogether.
For those unfamiliar, most EA games shipped with a separate serial that was
required to play games online. If a game was bought used, one would have to also
buy an Online Pass from EA to access online play.
